Piloting Activities in Italy

8 piloting activities:

  • 6 Preparatory meetings
  • 1 VoyMUN - online
  • 1 GALIMUN - organized by Italian school

Italy’s GaliMUN was the culmination of extensive piloting activities, where students had the opportunity to reflect deeply on active citizenship and the importance of making their voices heard.

Supported by teachers, the students took the lead in every aspect of the simulation: selecting the topic, assigning countries, organizing the conference, and teaching the rules of procedure.

Each participant prepared thoroughly by researching their assigned country, crafting opening speeches, and gathering necessary information to represent their positions effectively.

The GaliMUN was held on May 9th 2024, a significant date chosen to celebrate both Europe Day and eTwinning Day.

The opening ceremony featured contributions from younger students participating in the eTwinning project Young Leaders: Fostering European Awareness and Democratic Values, who emphasized the importance of civic engagement and voting, particularly as the event took place just before the European elections.

The VOYAGE project and GaliMUN had a widespread impact, engaging not only the students directly involved but also inspiring the broader school community. Teachers and students alike were invited to observe the simulation, fostering a greater understanding of democratic processes and the value of international collaboration in education.
